My absolute favorite social media platform right now is definitely TikTok. Because the amount of creativity that happens with the content there super exceeds what I see on every other platform combined.
So when I think about marketing my business there I think about how I feel when I’m on the platform and how if I just learn how to create great creative content that I will reach my audience and I will increase my Revenue.
Which is what we have done over the last 4 years generating over 2 million dollars.
Today I want to tell you 3 things you need to know in order to get started with TikTok marketing that works in 2024 all through 2025.
1. TikTok is not like any other social media platform.
Even though there are Instagram reels and all the other short form video platforms TikTok is just not like any of them.
Think about Facebook 20 years ago. When it first came out it was just for college students and we wouldn’t dare think about posting anything on that platform let alone marketing our businesses.
Fast forward 20 years later Facebook is one of the number one ways businesses make money organically and through paid advertisements.
So the platform is in a place where people are coming there to be entertained and they are being sold to by companies but in a very unique and creative way.
So you have to learn the art of the culture on the platform and create content that’s on brand for you but also creative enough to reach your audience where they know they’re being sold but it doesn’t feel like they’re being sold.
That’s why you see so many companies use these creative trends to sell skin care products, jewelry, finance products and all the things because they are using the creativity of what’s happening in the culture to sell their products in very unique ways.
2. You need a face to represent your brand!
To have real success on the platform you are going to need to have a face or different faces that are showing up creating content on your behalf. Because people are looking for consistency, companies and people that they can connect to as well as those that they can trust.
Some of the brands that are having the most success with this have consistent faces in all of their videos. that doesn’t mean you have to hire a full-time employee to do that, that means that you can work with content creators, ugc content creators to create content on a regular basis for your brand. You just need to give them a creative brief and show them the do’s and don’ts of the brand and let them create content.
3. You have to learn how to use all the features.
If you are going to get started with marketing over on TikTok you have to learn how to create videos, edit them using green screen and just some of the cool creative features. That doesn’t mean you have to learn every single button on tiktok because there are a lot of them but you do want to learn the basics so that your videos feel like you’re supposed to be there and not like you are learning.
