How To Grow on TikTok, Instagram & YouTube With One Video

Creating content for multiple platforms can feel overwhelming. But what if I told you that you don’t have to create unique videos for each one? You can create one video and use it to grow on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Lemon8, and Shorts all at the same time.

In this blog, I’ll walk you through my ‘Explode’ method strategy to make it happen.

1. Pick a Topic Your Audience Wants to See

The first step is picking a topic your audience wants. Use tools like TikTok’s Creator Search Insights to identify content gaps topics people are searching for but aren’t finding enough videos about and that’s your opportunity to make a great content topic.

You can also search on YouTube. If you find videos with thousands of views, you’ve got a winner. Pick a hot topic or fill in a gap, and your video will have a strong chance to perform well.

2. Film on Your Phone

Forget about filming directly on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts. Instead, use your phone’s camera. Why? Posting videos filmed on one platform onto another can reduce their reach due to metadata conflicts.

My pro tip is that I use it all the time, to use your back camera for better quality. If you’ve got an Apple Watch, it’s perfect for framing your shot while using the back camera so you can still see the preview from the camera

3. Edit a Dramatic Hook in CapCut

When creating content you have to make interesting content to draw people’s attention, make them share, make them save the video, and make sure that people like the content that you are creating. It’s a fun part when it comes to the editing part.

You can use any editing platform other than CapCut, but make sure don’t edit your video on a specific social media platform. You can make your video look more interesting using CapCut to add dramatic visuals, audio, and text hooks that grab attention right away. This includes transitions, zoom effects, and bold fonts. Make your content exciting and dynamic. The goal is to keep viewers engaged and wanting to share your video.

4. Adjust the Size to Fit Each Platform

Different platforms have different display formats for vertical videos, so resizing is essential. Avoid placing text too high, too low, or near the edges where it might get cut off by overlays like captions or icons.

I always make sure that the text is in the perfect position on every platform. Planning your text placement during editing will ensure your video looks great everywhere.

5. Add a Trending Audio on Each Platform

Trending audio is a fantastic way to increase your video’s reach. However, remember that trending sounds vary by platform. Use TikTok’s trending audio for TikTok, Instagram’s trending reel audio for Instagram, and so on.

When you add a trending sound to your video, there will increase the possibility that your video will go viral. This small adjustment can make a big difference in how your content performs.

6. Create Reply Videos to Viral Comment Topics

Once your video starts gaining traction, reply to the comments. Reply to interesting or common comments with new videos. This not only boosts engagement but also drives traffic back to your original video, keeping it active in the algorithm.

These reply videos are quick to make and an easy way to keep the conversation going while reaching a larger audience.

One of the things to understand about this strategy is that you have to be intentional and consistent. Once you start, you’ll need to keep doing it over and over again. On top of that, you must be very thoughtful with the content you’re creating. With this six-step approach, you can grow on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts with just one piece of content. Focus on creating high-quality, engaging videos, and the results will follow.
