The social media world never stops evolving, and as we approach 2025, we have to be ready to plan our social media strategy. These predictions are my opinion based on my track record of what would happen in 2023
Here are my top social media predictions for 2025 and how you can implement them to grow your brand and business in 2025.
1. TikTok Is Still Going Strong
My top-list prediction is that TikTok will still be here. They said it will be banned on January 19th, but I firmly believe TikTok isn’t going anywhere. With millions of daily users and countless businesses relying on the platform for their livelihood, if they take this app away, you immediately hurt millions of Americans financially. We’ll likely see some regulatory changes. In America, we usually don’t handle things by banning them; it’s not something we normally do.
2. The Rise of Live Selling
Live selling is taking over and going to be more ‘booming’. Platforms like TikTok Shop are already booming, with creators making incredible sales in just hours through live streams. And it’s not stopping their Meta, YouTube, and even Amazon are doubling down on live selling features.
If you haven’t started using live streams to connect with your audience, now is the time. People start selling on their live stream, they’re teaching through live streams and people going live allows you to build trust, showcase your products in real-time, and drive instant sales. Try going live to build your audience and reach your goal with the right audience.
3. YouTube’s Growing Importance
YouTube continues to dominate, and in 2025, it will be even more vital for creators and businesses since you can get monetized from YouTube. Besides the short-form videos, long-form content and live streaming on YouTube are proving to be powerful tools for monetization. And remember, live streaming can significantly boost your watch hours, helping you get monetized faster.
4. The Carousel Content Trend
Carousels are becoming the star of the show on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and even YouTube Community and Lemon8. Start making carousels into your strategy to engage your audience and lead to more interaction. Whether you’re sharing tips, product features, or personal stories, carousels give you a creative way to connect.
5. AI’s Becoming More Real
ChatGPT just launched something recently. OpenAI launches a $200 ChatGPT subscription for research use. AI is transforming the way we create and interact with content. From tools like AI, we can create visual content with a lot of possibilities to explore to create content. If you’re not already using AI, you can start small. Test tools that can automate tasks or enhance creativity, and integrate them into your workflow to save time and resources.
6. Memberships and Paid Communities
The trend of moving toward memberships and paid communities is growing really fast. Platforms like Patreon, YouTube, and TikTok are offering creators ways to monetize their content through subscriptions.
Building a paid community not only generates recurring income but also allows you to focus on one thing with just serving a group of communities. Whether it’s exclusive content, live Q&A sessions, or personalized coaching, memberships can add real value for both you and your followers.
7. The Art of Storytelling
Storytelling will be more important than ever in 2025. You will see a lot of content creators will be better with their storytelling content. Content that tells a compelling story keeps audiences engaged and helps build a deeper emotional connection.
Whether you’re creating a series on TikTok, sharing behind-the-scenes on Instagram, or crafting a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, focus on making your audience feel something. Stories sell and they keep people coming back for more.
8. Micro-Influencers on the Rise
Brands are shifting their focus back to micro-influencers, and for good reason. These smaller creators have highly engaged communities and offer better ROI than big-name influencers.
If you’re a smaller creator, this is your time to shine. Focus on building genuine relationships with your audience, and brands will notice your impact.
9. Authenticity in Content Creation
In 2025, authenticity will win the day. Audiences are tired of overly polished, curated content. They want to see the real you.
People are looking for more people that they can relate to. Be yourself, share your journey, and connect with your audience on a personal level. Authenticity builds trust, and trust is what keeps people coming back.
